久しぶりの更新になりました。

5月はぶどう農家にとって一年の中でも特に忙しい時期です。

今年も花が咲き、ジベレリン処理を行い、気がつけばあっという間に6月になっていました。

今、ぶどう棚を見上げると、圃場全体が鮮やかな緑に包まれています。

毎日作業をしていると変化に気づきにくいものですが、少し離れて全体を見ると、ぶどうたちがしっかり成長していることを感じます。

今年は春先から樹の勢いも比較的良く、シャインマスカットもクイーンニーナも今のところ順調です。

もちろん、ぶどう作りに「絶対」はありません。

これから天候や病気との戦いもありますし、摘粒や袋掛けなど大切な作業も続きます。

それでも今のぶどう園には、今年の収穫への期待を感じさせてくれる力があります。

これからは一房一房の形を整える摘粒作業が中心になります。

地味な作業ですが、おいしいぶどうを作るための大切な工程です。

暑い季節に向かいますが、今年も皆さまに甘くておいしいぶどうをお届けできるよう、ぶどうと向き合っていきたいと思います。

It’s been a while since my last update.

May is one of the busiest times of the year for grape growers.

This year, too, the flowers bloomed, we applied gibberellin, and before we knew it, June had arrived.

When I look up at the trellises now, the entire vineyard is enveloped in vibrant green.

When you’re working there every day, it’s hard to notice the changes, but when you step back and look at the whole picture, you can really feel how well the grapes are growing.

The vines have been relatively vigorous since early spring, and both the Shine Muscat and Queen Nina varieties are doing well so far.

Of course, there are no “absolutes” in grape growing.

We still have battles ahead with the weather and disease, and important tasks like thinning and bagging will continue.

Even so, the vineyard right now has a certain energy that fills me with anticipation for this year’s harvest.

From here on out, our focus will be on thinning the clusters to shape each one.

It’s a simple task, but it’s a crucial step in producing delicious grapes.

As we head into the hot season, I’ll continue to tend to the vines so that we can deliver sweet, delicious grapes to you all again this year.
